Zugspitze, the highest mountain in Germany

A DAY OUT NEAR GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN

Zugspitze – Germany’s highest mountain

Head to the top: at 2,962 metres, an impressive Alpine panorama awaits, making this one of the region’s most memorable holiday experiences.

UP INTO THE MOUNTAINS

Experience the Zugspitze

The journey up is an experience in itself. The cogwheel railway runs from Garmisch-Partenkirchen towards the Zugspitzplatt. Alternatively, travel to the Eibsee and take the Zugspitze cable car directly to the summit station.

On a clear day, the summit terrace reveals an exceptional panorama across the surrounding Alps.

A day out for families and view-lovers

You do not need to be a mountaineer to visit the Zugspitze. The mountain railways make Germany’s highest mountain easy to experience. Depending on the season and weather, enjoy the views, explore the Zugspitzplatt, stop for a meal or simply take in the distinctive high-Alpine landscape.
